Monitoreal has been selected for the NYC Environmental Tech Lab’s 2026 cohort!
We’re proud to announce that our AI-powered edge device will be deployed in a proof-of-concept with the NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), the largest municipal water and wastewater utility in the nation.
This isn’t just another pilot. DEP delivers over 1 billion gallons of clean water daily to 8.5 million New Yorkers, managing 7,500 miles of sewers, wastewater treatment, and air quality – all under the intensifying pressures of climate change .
The Partnership Fund for New York City’s Environmental Tech Lab stands out for its depth of engagement. This rigorous selection process involved 17 DEP subject matter experts evaluating proposals, with 22 finalists presenting live demos to over 50 operators and leaders before the final 10 were chosen .
What makes our solution unique for the DEP’s Emergency Response & Security Challenge? We deliver:
- Privacy-First Intelligence: Our edge device plugs directly into existing security cameras. All video processing happens locally on the device, ensuring video data stays private and secure.
- Real-Time Actionable Insights: Automatically detect security incidents, trigger immediate alerts, and surface operational insights without cloud latency .
- Scalable, Non-Intrusive Tech: We upgrade existing camera infrastructure into intelligent monitoring systems, providing a cost-effective path to enhanced security.
We’re honored to join this talented cohort of global innovators and excited to demonstrate how on-premise AI can strengthen NYC’s critical infrastructure for decades to come.
